"Brothers and sisters, fill your minds with whatever is good and true, whatever is pure, whatever is noble and right, whatever is lovely, whatever is honorable and admirable, if anything is excellent or praiseworthy, think about such things. Put them into practice, and God -who gives us peace- will be with you." (Philippians 4:8)

"Thanks for the Gift: I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me." (Philippians 4:13)

We must train our minds to think upon these positive and peaceful things. We must keep our minds protected, because the devil could take advantage of those vulnerable ones.

Today's Thought.

Today's Thought. Dear Readers,

When we bring it all to Jesus, when we stand in His presence, the presence of the Almighty, and look into His wonderful face, all of a sudden, a calm sweet spirit comes over us.
God's Peace comes upon us.
I do not know what you are going through, but I know who is with you, I know Jesus has the answer, the solution, the perfect medical prescription for you. Today's Scripture says, "Sorrowful, yet always rejoicing; poor, yet making many rich; having nothing, and yet possessing everything."
(II Corinthians 6:10).
Praise God! If you are having financial problems, God is the banker, He owns the cattle on a thousand hills. If you are sick, God is the great healer. When the doctor says there is nothing more he can do, remember God, not the doctor, has the final word. When there are problems in your home, children rebelling, maybe, you are facing a separation or divorce, illness, financial troubles, etc., hang in there, because Jesus is right there with you at all times, and if you turn it all over to Him, He can turn it all around for the better in your life. Trust the Lord with all your heart! God will never betray you like humans do...
"Nothing is wasted. When it is, share all with Jesus.
Jesus can bring beauty out of those ashes of lost DREAMS.
Jesus can glean JOY out of sorrow. PEACE out of adversity.
Only a Friend, who is also the KING of ALL KINGS, could accomplish this divine and perfect prescription."
Let us Pray...
Almighty Heavenly Father, We come before Your throne -today- with our problems, heartaches, sickness, our financial situation, Lord, for many of us it seems hopeless. God, we come to You, because we know if we just leave it all at your feet, You will take care of everything. Thank You, Lord, because of You, we can face tomorrow, and we can overcome obstacles. Praise the Lord! Through You, we can become victorious in our lives. We love You, God. In Jesus most Holy Name, we pray. Amen.
Until we write again.

"LOOKING BACK IN TIME..."

"LOOKING BACK IN TIME..."

Today’s Bible Verse. Water for the Soul. "Are not two little sparrows sold for a penny? And yet not one of them will fall to the ground without your Father's leave and notice."
(Mathew 10:29)
I have watched several times out the window as birds come out of the trees searching for food. At that point, it comes to my mind a simple question, “What will happen to them when times of drought arise in the Summer, or when storms hit hard, and there won’t be food available for animals and/or humans. What will they/we do?
Looking back in time, I felt like a homeless person when I was a young foreign girl –back almost 40 years ago- living in New York City without a steady warm place to stay and food on my stomach. I was so thin, a starving looking young girl. I never knew how I would be able to survive and spread my good seeds of love. You see I was looking for FREEDOM in the LAND of THE FREE coming from a country plagued with a dirty war and missing people. Now, I am an old timer Senior US Citizen. You and I -under troubling life circumstances- would search back in our pantries, cellars or go to a food kitchen or the Salvation Army for help. I think birds have some kind of storage nest themselves. Yet, I can't help but to think of the spiritual aspect of this story. You and I worship our Savior Lord, Jesus Christ, find Him, dining at our table until we are full. We do this in fellowship with other Christians under the anointing of God -who cares and desires the best for us, even if it is just to fill our bellies. The Bible Scripture for today says, "Are not two little sparrows sold for a penny? And yet not one of them will fall to the ground without your Father's leave and notice." (Mathew 10:29)
It is a Holy thing to practice the presence and be in the presence of a Holy God, who is not interested in our worldly goods or material things which have been purchased by our material hands. God is preparing us with good seeds to strengthen us, and to prepare us to fly out of our comfort zone, our nest. Seek God inside our hearts in all that we do. Seek God when others rely in a world of material things. Our soul is coming from a spiritual source, a gift from God.
Our God is a good God at all times no matter the circumstances. We are all mortal beings. One day, we’ll all die, but our souls will live forever in Eternity, if we truly believe in God. Jesus keeps His eye on us. He wants what is best for His children. We are His family, which makes us brothers and sisters in Christ. As His eye is on the tiny sparrow, we know that He is watching over us. The battle belongs to the Lord, and He is our Almighty Father, the Master of all Masters. Who will be against us, if we are led by our dear Lord, Jesus Christ, the Holy Spirit, the Light in the darkest sea?
Why should I be discouraged, and why should
the shadows come?
Why should my heart be lonely and long for heaven and home?
When Jesus is my portion, a constant Friend is He,
His eye is on the sparrow, and I know He watches me.
His eye is on the sparrow, and I know He watches me.
I sing because I'm happy;
I sing because I'm free;
His eye is on the sparrow,
And I know He watches me.
Let not your heart be troubled; these tender words I hear;
And resting on his goodness, I lose my doubts and fears;
For by the path He lead, but one step I may see;
His eye is on the sparrow, and I know He watches me.
Whenever I am tempted; whenever clouds arise;
When songs give place to sighing; when hope within me dies;
I draw the closer to Him; from care He sets me free;
His eye is on the sparrow, and I know He watches me.
His eye is on the sparrow, and I know He watches me.
Let us pray! Dear Heavenly Father, I am crying for the world as I see the way it is nowadays. We gather here today to pray with our humble hearts for the ones in need of prayers. There is so much we have to be thankful for our lives this day, another day, a gift from You, Lord. Not only for the kindness of others, but also for the drought which brings us to the place we call home. That place, our sweet home, is another gift from You, a roof over our head, food on our table, and once again, finding God in our soul. We thank You, Father for making us the apple of Your eyes, and for forgiving our sins, for caring for us. Lead our way, gentle Heavenly Father, in all that we do or say this day and forever. Our lives are, and will always be in Your hands, Lord. May the Lord have mercy on us! In Jesus’ Holy Name, we pray. AMEN.
PEACE BE WITH YOU.
UNTIL WE WRITE AGAIN.

Happy Memorial Day!!

“ MEMORIAL DAY.”
Memorial Day. For some people, it’s a three-day reprieve from the office grind. For others, it’s a time to remember family and friends who gave their lives in service of their country. For the nation, it signifies the sacrifices that countless men and women have made to sustain the American Dream.
Here are nine things you might not know about Memorial Day:
1. It began after the Civil War: Due to the mass casualties caused by the Civil War, the burying and memorializing of the dead took on special significance for the citizens of the newly united America. Memorial Day grew out of the tradition of decorating the graves of these fallen soldiers with flowers.
2. No one knows who was first: Multiple cities claim to be the birthplace of the Memorial Day tradition. Savannah, Georgia; Warrenton, Virginia; Boalsburg, Pennsylvania; Charleston, South Carolina; Columbus, Mississippi; Carbondale, Illinois; and Columbus, Georgia all claim to have had a hand in the very first Memorial Day celebration. In May of 1966, President Lyndon B. Johnson issued a proclamation that made Waterloo, New York the official origin point of the holiday.
3. It wasn’t always “Memorial Day:” For many years, the holiday commemorating fallen American soldiers was referred to as “Decoration Day.” The name was officially changed to “Memorial Day” in 1967.
4. Women played a big role: Memorial Day may have begun as a way to honor male Civil War soldiers who’d died in battle, but it was the women they left behind who helped inspire the idea behind the holiday.
5. Three-day weekends are required by law: Memorial Day was originally celebrated on May 30th. But the Uniform Monday Holiday Act of 1968 changed the official observance dates of Memorial Day, Columbus Day, Veteran’s Day and Washington’s Birthday (eventually President’s Day) from their actual dates to specific Mondays throughout the year, creating the fabulous three-day weekends we all enjoy.
6. Flag at half-mast for half the day: Surprisingly, the American flag only spends half of Memorial Day at half-mast. The first half of the day is dedicated to honoring those who have fallen in service to their country. Then, after noon, the flag is raised in order to symbolize the indomitable American spirit and commitment to fighting for freedom and justice.
7. Indy 500: Since 1911, the Indianapolis 500 has been held on the Sunday before Memorial Day.
8. Flowers for those who fought: The National American Legion designated the poppy as their official symbol of remembrance in 1920. An iconic World War I poem entitled “In Flanders Fields,” which referenced the poppies that sprung up in between the graves of fallen soldiers on a battlefield in France, is said to have led to the widespread adoption of the poppy as a memorial icon by multiple countries.
9. A nationwide moment of silence: In 2000, the “National Moment of Remembrance Act,” officially designated 3:00 pm local time on Memorial Day as a minute of silent remembrance in honor of those who’ve fallen in service to their country.
Memorial Day is about honoring the deceased, but it can also be a time to reflect on how well we’re attending to the needs of the living veterans who fought alongside their now-fallen brethren.
LET'S FREEDOM & JUSTICE PREVAIL!!
GOD BLESS AMERICA!! GOD BLESS THE AMERICANS!!
STARRY DAWN.
